A Gentle Thunder...

Life throws us lessons every moment. If we don't learn the lesson, it keeps coming back.

In the beginning, these are just small lessons. An unkind word, a promise unkept, a "slight" back pain, etc. Then the lessons become bigger, more hurtful. Arguments, disagreement, terrible back pain, etc. And yet sometimes we still don't learn from it.

Then one day we find ourselves having a life we don't want. And we begin blaming and the world becomes a cruel, dark place. My life seemed that way a while back. It felt that I was in the middle of a great storm. The wind was howling, rain was pouring, lightning was flashing. Nothing seemed to work. Everything seemed unfair.

But in the middle of the storm there was a gentle thunder. And to me it was saying, "Hold on. Learn your lessons and the storm will stop." I did. The wind became a gentle lullaby that brought me a peaceful sleep. Rain became a gentle shower that cleansed my soul. And lightning? It became a fireworks show that brought out the little boy in me!

And what about the gentle thunder? Well, it still speaks to me. "Hold on. Nothing you do will undo My love for you... Always remember: faith, hope and love. And the greatest of these is love."
